We had a lovely time relaxing. You can definitely tell a cyclone has hit Vanuatu – so many trees lying on the ground, and a lot of the greenery hasn’t recovered yet (from what I imagine it used to be like)
The resort was lovely. I loved that each villa had it’s own gazebo with sun loungers right on the beach. And there was always enough room around the pool as well. We had a go at stand up paddle boarding which was fun and kayaked to one of the offshore islands.
The food was lovely, although quite expensive. They had 2 lunch specials each day, but sadly no dinner specials (which meant it was the same menu the entire time – not bad for a 1 week stay, but I can imagine it would get quite limiting for any longer than that).
Our experience with the people of Vanuatu was so much better than the time we went there on a P&O cruise. On the cruise we found the people quite abrupt and money hungry. None of that at the resort which was lovely. Everyone was super friendly and happy to have a chat.
Leigh came down with man-flu at the beginning of our holiday which was unfortunate. It meant that our holiday with no planned activities became a holiday with no activities full stop. I was happy reading tonnes of books, but I would have liked to be able to snorkel or do the village tour (both of which I didn’t want to do alone)
