InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa
InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa is becoming Regent Bora Bora
The resort closed its doors on June 1, 2026 and is being transformed into Regent Bora Bora, due to reopen in late 2027 with 84 exclusively overwater villas on its private motu facing Mount Otemanu. It cannot be booked until then. This page remains as our record of the resort and its lagoon setting; if Bora Bora is on your mind, we can suggest comparable overwater stays nearby and add you to our Regent Bora Bora waitlist for 2028.
A sanctuary orchestrated for romance.
InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa closed on 1 June 2026 and is being transformed into Regent Bora Bora, due to reopen in late 2027 with 84 exclusively overwater villas on its private motu facing Mount Otemanu. This page stays as our record of the resort, and we will update it as Regent publishes the new villa, dining and spa programme.
Across the lagoon on Motu Piti Aau
The resort occupies an outer motu facing Bora Bora's mountainous core. Its historic identity has centred on uninterrupted lagoon outlooks, an entirely overwater accommodation collection and seawater-based cooling—an unusually coherent proposition for couples who want the bungalow to be the heart of the stay.
Domestic flight and resort boat
The established journey combines a Tahiti-to-Bora Bora flight with a boat transfer from the airport. Exact transfer arrangements should be treated as provisional until the resort publishes its post-renovation operating details.
Overwater views, category by category
Previous accommodation ranged from lagoon-facing villas to Diamond Otemanu positions and the larger Brando Suite. View direction, jetty position and plunge-pool specification have always mattered here, but the future inventory should be assessed afresh when confirmed rather than inferred from historic room names.
Thalassotherapy as the signature
The Deep Ocean Spa has distinguished the resort through treatments using cold deep seawater, complemented historically by lagoon pursuits and a three-restaurant collection. Couples should wait for the reopened resort to confirm which spa, dining and experience concepts return and in what form.
Our honeymoon perspective
Once reopened, this should remain most relevant to couples prioritising Otemanu-facing overwater life and serious wellness. For now, we would not plan a honeymoon around legacy descriptions alone; confirmed opening dates and the revised villa and dining programme must come first.
