Designed by globally acclaimed architect Yuji Yamazaki best known in the US for Armani stores, Kudadoo is simply a celebration of geometry and scale, and sustainability. Your first acquaintance with these elements will be from the sky as you fly in by plane. The hub of the resort, known as The Retreat rises out of the lagoon at 21 metres high and sports a roof that comprises 984 solar panels to generate enough electricity to operate the entire island to serve 50 guests and 100 staff at any time, thereby farewell to fossil fuel. The resort also produces all its drinking water on the island by converting abundant seawater into fresh drinking water through its desalination plant, not bad for an island that is only 3 hectares in size.
