We had an amazing time in Vietnam. It is a new favourite. Every inch was spectacular and exceeded my expectations. It is quite literally a picture postcard country.
Of all my favourite locations I would have to say Hoi An is really quite special.
An Lam was spectactular and we enjoyed it very much. The staff and service are exceptional. Overall I would give it an 8 out of 10 as it may be a little too remote to spend 10 days. Perhaps 5-7 days would be ideal and if I had to be a bit picky I felt it lacked a bit of atmosphere. I did leave a suggestion on the comment card that perhaps having a happy hour in the afternoon would bring guests together for a little socialising in the afternoon. You can quite literally walk around the resort all day and not see another person except at breakfast and dinner. We did do an afternoon sunset cruise on the Kylie yacht where we met some other guests and it was really enjoyable. Whilst I adored both the Sea View Villa (28) and the Lagoon Villa (18) I think the Lagoon is probably my favourite. The food was delicious and think considering they are remote with not a lot of guests the choice is excellent. Overall it was outstanding though and I would visit again but for 5 days I think.
So Vietnam is now high on our list as we could definitely spend another 4 weeks there and I think I would most definitely want to stop over on return from a European trip. We are already very keen to return next year.
